Learning Disorders
Learning Disabilities (e.g., Reading, Math, Written Language, Non-Verbal Abilities) are specific academic skill deficits or learning ability deficits that are in contrast to children's general mental abilities. There continue to be many debates about how diagnosis and intervention are done in this area. The association (originally named the International Association for the Scientific Study of Mental Deficiency) was founded in 1964 and has sponsored eleven World Congresses.
