Domestic Violence
Children have a variety of negative responses to domestic violence. Symptoms may include aggressive behavior, depression, withdrawing, fears, anxiety, sleep disturbances, care-taking adults, rescuing, regressed behaviors (wetting or baby-talk) and learning problems. Underlying many of those problems are the children's emotional responses to the violence, such as intense terror, fear of death, and fear of loss of a parent. There can be an underlying rage, feelings of guilt, and a sense of responsibility for the violence. Public awareness and knowledge still in need and action is essential for family safety and the related mental health issues. Learn more information and discuss this disorder in the YP.com forum!
